1:14
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
so God found it neccessary to be like man who is flesh and made his dwelling in zion among mankind as promised through his prophets of antient times.



1:15
John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
john bore witness to the word, and cried, saying, this was he of whom i spoke; he that comes after me is preferred to me: for he was in the biginning.

1:16
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
and of God's fulness have we all received, from one grace to a higher grace.

1:17
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
for the first grace was given through moses, but the fulness of God's grace came by Jesus Christ, who is the word.

1:18
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
no man has seen God at any time; except his only begotten son, the word which is the bosom of the father, and the word declared the father.
